It's time to jump in!
The City of Delta is replacing the Winskill Aquatic & Fitness Centre (Winskill) with a new facility that will offer improved and expanded amenities to meet the growing needs of the community. Residents are invited to get involved in the design of the new facility through the City’s engagement program. The City is currently collecting feedback on the following topics:
Project vision and priorities
8 or 10 swim lanes for the main pool
Features included in leisure pool
Features of the recreation centre and common areas
Accessibility and sustainability considerations of the facility
Location of the new facility in the Winskill Park
Project impacts and mitigation efforts
Here is how you can participate:
1. Get Informed - Review the Engagement Guide and other supporting materials on the website to learn more about the project and what is being proposed.
2. Attend an Event - The City is hosting many different events to involve user groups as well as the community at large. If you would like to discuss your feedback and ideas with staff, plan on attending an event. Special Events are planned for:
Community
Neighbouring Residents
Aquatic User Groups
Field User Groups
Underrepresented Groups (Youth, Seniors, Neuordivergent, Immigrants, LGBQT2S+, People with Mobility Challenges, Indigenous and People with Experience of Poverty)
3. Share Your Ideas - If you have suggestions for the amenities in the new pool, you can submit them through the Ideas tool below or through the Feedback Form. Additionally, you can use the Forum to discuss your thoughts with your neighbours.
4. Have Your Say - The City is formally collecting suggestions and comments for the aquatic facility, fitness centre, sports fields and site location through the form below. No time? Complete the short version of the form which invites feedback on the preferred location of the new facility.
Feedback during this phase will be collected through to June 16 and will be shared with staff to consider in their recommendations to Council. The findings will be available for both the public and Council to review.

The City of Delta is replacing the Winskill Aquatic and Fitness Centre with a new facility expected to open in 2027. In this phase of the project, the community is invited to complete this form to provide input into the key features of the facility, where to locate the facility on the site, and what impacts the project may have. The form will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Feedback will be collected between May 7 and June 16. The results will be used to inform the detailed design and will be shared with the public and with Council.

Schematic Design (Jul - Oct 2024)

This is where the architect starts to put all the pieces together and produces renderings. This may also be referred as preliminary design.
Design Development (Oct - Feb 2024)
this is an upcoming stage for Winskill Renewal Project
This is where we start to progress from basic renderings developing the detailed design. The end result is with detailed design. During this stage we often refer to design documents in various levels represented as a percentage, normally between 50%-90% for this phase.
Construction Documents (Feb - Jul 2025)
this is an upcoming stage for Winskill Renewal Project
These are the detailed design documents, or blueprints that provides the explicit details for the necessary construction to occur and would be included in the various tenders that are issued.
