Winskill Aquatic and Fitness Centre Detailed Design Ready for Feedback

The second and final phase of engagement on the design of the new Winskill Aquatic and Fitness Centre is now underway. Residents are invited to “jump back in” and help confirm the direction of the detailed design of the new facility.

This final phase of public engagement runs from February 27, 2025 to March 24, 2025, and includes several opportunities for community members to learn more about what is proposed, speak with staff and the design team, and share their feedback.

"Resident feedback has played a key role in shaping the preliminary design of the new aquatic and fitness centre and we look forward to another opportunity to check in with the public for the final design,” said Mayor George V. Harvie. “As we enter this final phase of the design and move closer to breaking ground on this exciting amenity, I encourage everyone to get involved by sharing their thoughts so that we can build a facility that truly reflects the needs of our community.”

Through the engagement program, residents will provide feedback on plans for the exterior building design, select outdoor community gathering spaces, accessibility features, and the pool and fitness centre, as well as plans for reforestation of the park.

Multiple in-person opportunities, including open houses with opportunities to explore the exterior of the building and pool area through virtual reality, will be available and are marked by an asterisk (*) below. City staff and project team members will be onsite during in-person events to discuss key design elements and answer any questions. Feedback will be collected until March 24, 2025.
