What is being proposed?
The facility would be approximately 14,630square feet and would feature six retractable batting areas, a 9,000 sq. ft. turf surface, two interior washrooms, four exterior public washrooms, a meeting room, a concession area and storage area.
Who will own the facility?
The City of Delta would own the facility. LMBA will be responsible for operating the facility through a lease provided by the City of Delta.
Who gets to use the facility?
LMBA will be responsible for operation of the facility including allocation to other Delta-based sport groups and organizations.
LMBA will have sole discretion to book and allocate the Facility and the Delta will have access to any remaining hours that may be available, at no cost, for community programs and services.
What are the associated costs and who is paying them?
The facility is estimated to cost approximately $3,700,000, which is funded by LMBA and the City.
The City will contribute the land and approximately $150,000 towards servicing the site for construction. Additionally, the City will be responsible for the maintenance of the building envelope over the course of the lease.
How long is the proposed agreement?
The proposed term is 20 years (two 10 year terms).
How can I access the facility?
The proposed facility has the ability to serve multiple sports. LMBA will be responsible for allocating and booking the facility based on agreed upon principles with the City.
