Beach Grove Seawall
Background
The Beach Grove Seawall runs for approximately 1.2 kilometers between 12 and 17A Avenue along Boundary Bay's western shorefront. It provides essential flood protection for residents that live in the Beach Grove neighbourhood.
As part of the City's continued work in increasing resiliency to climate change impacts, the City secured grant funding from Emergency Management BC's National Disaster Mitigation Program to conduct a condition assessment of the existing Beach Grove seawall and develop a concept design solution for future upgrades.
Upon adoption of a concept design solution, the City will seek further funding from senior government levels to assist with the detailed design and construction of flood protection upgrades.
