Ladner Waterfront Flood Protection Improvements

Background

The Ladner Waterfront runs for approximately 800 meters between Ashbury Place and Eliott Street along the Fraser River bank. The Ladner Waterfront dike provides essential flood protection for residents that live in the Ladner Village neighbourhood.

As part of the City's continued work in increasing resiliency to climate change impacts, the City secured funding from the Union of British Columbia Municipalities’ Community Emergency Preparedness Fund to develop a conceptual design solution that will protect the community from future Sea Level Rise and support the long-term vision for a revitalized Ladner Waterfront.

Upon adoption of a conceptual design solution, the City will seek further funding from senior government levels to assist with the detailed design and construction of flood protection improvements.

• Register and attend a virtual public engagement session at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, via Zoom.
• Complete the Survey, available on Tuesday, November 29 until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.

All feedback received will be considered in the final report version of the Ladner Flood Protection Strategy.
