The City of Delta has awarded a contract for construction of Multi-Use Pathway along the East side of Nordel Way, between Weigh Scale Road and River Road, as part of Delta’s Cycling Infrastructure program. This route has been identified for improvements as per recommendations from the Cycling Masterplan Study for Delta's future cycling routes. The improvements will provide cyclists with a safe and protected cycling route between the Alex Fraser Bridge and River Road by connecting to the existing multi-use pathway on Weigh Scale Road and tie-in to the existing on-street bike lane on River Road. The proposed improvements include a 3.5m wide asphaltmulti-use pathway, LED street lighting upgrades, bus stop landing improvements, pavement markings, and related signage. as shown in the presentation drawing. The construction of the project is scheduled to start in mid-August 2022.
This project is co-funded by TransLink as part of their Bicycle Infrastructure Capital Cost Share program.
