Consultation has concluded
The City of Delta has received correspondence from residents living in the Marina Gardens neighbourhood regarding an increase in traffic volume and speeds, in particular, along the Neilson Grove Elementary school zone.
A traffic and parking assessment in the area was conducted by City staff. Traffic data was collected in the fall of 2020 within the Marina Gardens neighbourhood. Based on the evaluation, the following improvements are being recommended to address neighbourhood concerns:
Speed Cushions
The installation of speed cushions within the 30 km/h school zones on Admiral Boulevard will help demarcate the school zone to increase compliance.

Restrict Parking
The restriction of on-street parking for vehicles with boat trailers on the south side of Admiral Way, between Ferry Road and Admiral Boulevard will provide sufficient width for the eastbound travel lane. This will also improve emergency vehicle access. Signs can be provided at the boat launch to direct overflow boat trailer parking onto Ferry Road.
Staff observed boat trailers illegally parked on the curb and encroached on the travel lane
Traffic Signal
The installation of a full traffic signal at the intersection of Ferry Road and River Road is expected to enhance pedestrian and traffic safety.
