What is happening with the existing Holly Park Pump Track?
The City has ceded a portion of Holly Park to a private owner in exchange for an extension to Holly Park. As a result, part of the Holly Park Pump Track has been removed. No decision has been made about whether the remaining portion of the Holly Park bike park will remain.
How will the BC Hydro Powerlines affect the design?
As Kensington Park North sits within a BC Hydro Right of Way, permits will be required for the development of the site. The bike park design must adhere to BC Hydro’s safety and clearance criteria for setbacks and height limitations.
When will the new bike park be built?
A timeline for construction has not yet been set. The final design concept and construction budget will be brought to Council for a decision this fall. If approved, the City will invite competitive bids to develop detailed designs and construct the track.
