Residents Invited to Share Feedback on the Proposed Upgrades to Chisholm Street Wharf

Delta residents are invited to share their views on the upgrades planned for Ladner Village’s Chisholm Street Wharf. Reviewed with Delta Council at the Regular Meeting on October 7, 2024, the proposed concept aims to connect the community with the waterfront and create a vibrant, public space that can be enjoyed year-round.

"The ideas presented in this concept are truly exciting and have the potential to set our waterfront apart, creating a welcoming destination for both residents and visitors,” said Mayor George V. Harvie. “Bringing forward the concept plan to the public is an important next step in the engagement process. We're eager to hear from the community on what is proposed for Chisholm Street Wharf."

The Chisholm Street Wharf is one of seven projects included in a program to revitalize Ladner Village. The proposed design for the wharf includes features such as modular seating, festive lighting, room for food trucks, misting features for the summer season, illuminated pathways, and improved accessibility and connectivity to the dike pathway. The experience at the wharf will be extended to the area known as Spot-on-the-Water Park where additional seating and shaded areas are proposed.

“Through our conversations with residents at the Ladner Village Market this summer and their feedback through our engagement platform, we heard lots of enthusiasm for upgrading the wharf and many great ideas which have been included in this concept,” said Josh Turner, General Manager of Parks, Recreation & Culture. “We invite residents to see how their ideas have been incorporated into this concept.”
