To better understand the needs of Delta’s growing diverse community, the City launched the Newcomer Survey in September 2023.
Canada has one of the highest immigration rates per population of any country in the world. Immigrants come from many different countries, bringing with them their cultural, ethnic, linguistic and religious heritage.
With one third of Delta’s population being immigrants and nearly one half of its residents being racialized, Delta, similar to other Canadian cities, has become a more vibrant and culturally diverse community. Supporting our newcomer and racialized residents has been identified as one of the key priorities in Delta’s Social Action Plan.

The City of Delta is conducting a survey to better understand the unique needs and experiences of newcomer and racialized residents residing in Delta. If you are an immigrant or racialized community member who lives, works, plays in Delta, please take a survey. This survey will run for six weeks starting September 25, 2023, and should not take more than 15 minutes to complete.
Confidential: The results will be shared in an aggregated (summarized) manner on the City of Delta website in 2024. The responses are voluntary and confidential (no individual results will be posted).
Definitions: There may be questions in the survey where you may be unfamiliar with a certain word and its meaning. Read more about key definitions.
Gift Cards: By participating in this survey you will have the option to be entered into a draw to win one of the five $50 gift cards to local businesses by entering your email and phone number. All information will be kept confidential.
