Every year, the City plans for how tax dollars and other funding will be invested to provide the services and infrastructure Delta residents count on and enjoy. Residents are invited to get involved in this important process. Here is how you can participate in shaping the 2025 Budget:Phase 1: Gather Input (September 2024)The budget engagement process will begin much earlier than in prior years in order to gather input that can be considered in the preparation of the budget. Beginning in September, the community will be invited to consider the City&rsquo;s progress on its Goals and Priorities and complete a feedback form at letstalkdelta.ca and at City Hall to share their ideas. The information collected will be provided to staff, made available to the community and shared with Council at a public meeting to introduce the draft 2025 Financial Plan.Complete a form for a chance to win one of five $100 gift cards! All participants who complete the form and provide their email or phone number will be entered in a draw.Phase 2: Confirm Direction (October- November 2024)The second phase will occur in October and November. As part of this phase, the draft financial plan will be shared with the community for feedback. Residents will have the opportunity to attend meetings with staff and learn more about what is being considered as well as provide comments.

2025 Budget

Imagine what you can do in Ladner VillageThe City of Delta is moving forward on plans to revitalize Ladner Village based on the findings of the 2021 Ladner Village Renewal Advisory Committee. The City is currently engaging with the community about the projects, providing residents with an opportunity to learn more and share their feedback as the City prepares to move them forward.GETAWAY HEREThe City is currently gathering ideas for a tourist accommodation in Ladner Village. This exciting project is intended to inject vibrancy into the village and support local businesses. The project is in the early stages and the City is preparing to issue an Expression of Interest (EOI) to solicit parties interested in submitting full proposals for a tourist accommodation.How can I participate?Have ideas on how a tourist accommodation can complement Ladner Village? Residents have several opportunities to share their suggestions. Ladner Village 

In February 2020, the City of Delta held its third public information meeting for the 72 Avenue Roadway Improvements. Phase 1 of the project was successfully completed in 2022. The scheduled to start the week of October 21, 2024. At this time, it&rsquo;s anticipated that work will be substantially complete by fall 2025.Construction Phasing:<ul><li>Phase 1 (BNSF Overpass to 115 Street) - Completed in 2023</li><li>Phase 2 (115 Street to 120 Street) - Starting in 2024</li></ul>Project Improvements Include:<ul><li>Road widening to accommodate 4 travel lanes, complete with a centre median island from 115 Street to 120 Street</li><li>New LED street lighting</li><li>New traffic signal at 118 Street and 72 Avenue</li><li>Bus stop improvements</li><li>Sidewalk improvements</li><li>Hydro / telecommunication pole relocations</li><li>New traffic signal equipment to support signalized U-turns at 116 Street &amp; Nicholson Road intersections</li></ul>Construction Updates/Schedule:Phase 2 is tentatively scheduled to start the week of October 21, 2024. At this time, it&rsquo;s anticipated that work will be substantially complete by fall 2025.Traffic Impacts:During construction of Phase 2, please use caution while travelling in the area and obey road / construction signs, posted speed limits, and traffic control personnel. We will make every effort to minimize the inconvenience to residents; however, with work of this nature, some inconvenience will be unavoidable, and we ask for your patience and cooperation during construction.Construction Night Work:To minimize traffic disruption, work that will have major traffic impacts such as major asphalt paving is planned to be undertaken in the late evenings and overnight when traffic is generally minimal. Prior to any construction work at night, a notice will be provided to residents in the immediate area to advise of upcoming construction work and schedule. All efforts will be made to have minimal noise generated during the night work.Funding Partners:This project is co-funded by TransLink as part of their Major Road Network Improvement Program.

72 Avenue Roadway Improvements (BNSF Overpass to 120 Street)

It&#39;s time to jump in!The City of Delta is replacing the Winskill Aquatic &amp; Fitness Centre (Winskill) with a new facility that will offer improved and expanded amenities to meet the growing needs of the community. Residents are invited to get involved in the design of the new facility through the City&rsquo;s engagement program.Phase 1 of the engagement program is now complete! Through the first phase of the engagement program, the City collected feedback on the following topics:<ul><li>Project vision and priorities</li><li>8 or 10 swim lanes for the main pool</li><li>Features included in leisure pool</li><li>Features of the recreation centre and common areas</li><li>Accessibility and sustainability considerations of the facility</li><li>Location of the new facility in the Winskill Park</li><li>Project impacts and mitigation efforts</li></ul>The results of the engagement program are available in the What We Heard report. At the July 22 Regular Meeting, Delta Council received the results, approved the location for the Winskill Aquatic and Fitness Centre replacement and directed design to commence. Winskill Renewal Project

The City of Delta is seeking feedback on the proposed roadway improvements along 96 Avenue between 114 Street and 120 Street. The project is part of Delta&rsquo;s Neighbourhood Road Improvements Program, in collaboration with City of Surrey to address neighbourhood mobility and increase safety and accessibility for cyclist and pedestrian in the community. The proposed improvements include:<ul type="disc"><li>Pedestrian and Cycling Improvements: New 3.0m wide asphalt multi-use pathway along both sides of the road</li><li>Boulevard: New grassed boulevard on the south side with street trees, separating the multi-use pathway from the roadway</li><li>Parking: parking pockets with 0.6m buffer separation to the multi-use pathway</li><li>Lighting Enhancements: New LED streetlights and pathway lighting</li><li>Roadway: Roadway pavement rehabilitation with new left turn lanes on 96 Avenue at 116 Street intersection</li></ul>For more information, please refer to the <a href="https://letstalk.delta.ca/45426/widgets/190743/documents/140737" target="_blank"></a><a href="https://letstalk.delta.ca/45426/widgets/190743/documents/140912" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">presentation drawing.</a>The construction of the project is anticipated to take place in two phases from 120 Street to 116 Street (Phase 1) in 2025, and from 116 Street to 114 Street for in future capital plans.A Public Information Meeting with City staff will be held to discuss the proposed design with the community and make adjustments as necessary. The meeting is scheduled for:<ul type="disc"><li>Date: October 30, 2024</li><li>Time: 5:30pm &ndash; 7:30pm (open house drop-in format)</li><li>Location: Delview Secondary School (Cafeteria) &ndash; 9111 116 Street, Delta, BC.</li></ul>We welcome and encourage input from public to this project and look forward to hearing from you.
