Annieville Lions Park Master Plan
Phase 2 Community Engagement: What We Heard & Next Steps
In fall 2025, the City of Delta invited the community to take part in Phase Two of the Annieville Lions Park Master Plan engagement process. The goal was to further understand community needs and make sure the updated design reflects them.
Engagement overview:

What we learned from you
Residents expressed the need to preserve the existing trees, enhance accessibility, seating and sheltered gathering spaces. There was also a desire to see improvements made to the existing eastern baseball diamond and ensuring that the multi-use games area aligned with the needs of the community.
The feedback received during Phase Two of Community Engagement helped refine the Annieville Lions Park Master Plan.
Key updates to the Master Plan plan are:
- Alterations to the multi-use games area, providing a more refined layout, including basketball, ball hockey, tennis and futsal.
- Future upgrades to the eastern baseball diamond, including updated bleachers.
- Additional seating and gathering spaces throughout the park, including a second picnic shelter.
- Increased seating along 114th street.
- A potential rain garden near the existing parking lot to help manage rainwater.
- No trees are to be removed.

In summer 2024, the City invited the community to take part in Phase One of the Annieville Park Master Plan engagement process. The goal was to understand community needs and make sure the new design reflects them.
Engagement activities included:
- Letters sent to 966 households within 400 metres of the park
- On-site signage and social media notices
- Readerboard postings at the North Delta Recreation Centre
- Two in-person open houses at the park and an online feedback form at letstalk.delta.ca
In total, we heard from approximately 290 people. This included:
- 81 feedback forms submitted online or in person
- 64 residents attending open houses
- Input from Annieville Elementary students and staff, North Delta Baseball Association, North Delta Lions Club, and Cougar Creek Streamkeepers
The feedback gathered in Phase One helped shape the Draft Master Plan, which is now being shared as part of Phase Two engagement.

Background:
About Annieville Lions Park
Annieville Lions Park has been a gathering place in North Delta for generations. Built through the efforts of local residents, it remains a symbol of community spirit. Today, the park continues to bring people together and support recreation for families, neighbours, and sports groups.
The park is located at 9150 112 Street, beside Annieville Elementary School. It covers just over 33,000 square metres and is about one kilometre from the growing Scott Road Corridor, making it an important green space in a changing neighbourhood. Annieville Park is well-loved for family picnics, community events, and especially its strong connection to baseball.
What’s in the park now:
- Spray park
- Picnic shelter and BBQ area
- Two youth baseball fields and a batting cage
- Two tennis courts
- Fieldhouse with washrooms
- Concession stand with storage
- Parking lot
- Wooded area and natural play space
Some of these amenities, like the splash pad and washrooms, are reaching the end of their lifespan and need to be replaced.
Master Plan Development Process
In spring 2024, the City began the master planning process for Annieville Park. This started with research into the park’s history, technical analysis, and site surveys, followed by the identification of key priorities. The City retained a consultant to assist with development of the plan and the community engagement program. The key priorities to be addressed in the plan include:
- Improve accessibility across the park
- Replace aging infrastructure
- Upgrade the spray park, sport courts, and passive areas
- Create more flexible and inclusive areas for everyone to enjoy
Two initial design options were prepared to explore these ideas. This was the focus of Phase One community engagement in summer 2024.
