The City of Delta is proud to present the 2021 Community Banner Contest, a competition for residents of Delta to create a street banner that will raise awareness of Delta’s natural beauty, culture, and heritage as well as engage the community and showcase local artists.


How to Enter

  • Review the contest rules and guidelines.
  • Choose a category for your submission:
    • Delta Heritage (open category)
    • Discover Delta (open category)
    • Emerging Artist (ages 13 to 17 years)
    • Aspiring Artist (up to 12 years old)
  • Enter the contest by completing the entry form and waiver/release and uploading your artwork.
  • We are currently only accepting online submissions. If your submission was hand drawn or painted, please take a photo of your design and submit the photo. If you have any questions, please email talk@delta.ca.

Winning Banner Selection

A volunteer panel of local artists and a member of Delta’s Heritage Advisory Commission will select the winners. One winner will be chosen from each of the following categories:

  • Delta Heritage (open category)
  • Discover Delta (open category)
  • Emerging Artist (ages 13 to 17 years)
  • Aspiring Artist (up to 12 years old)

The winning design from each category will be displayed on City of Delta street banners the following year from January to May. An honorarium and a street banner with the winner’s design will be awarded to each winner.

    NOTE TO ALL PARTICIPANTS: 

    Due to COVID-19, we are only accepting online submissions until further notice. If your submission was hand drawn or painted, please take a photo of your design and submit the photo.

    By contributing your artwork to the contest, you are giving the City of Delta permission to use your artwork for use online and in print publications.
