Transit in Delta is at risk.

TransLink has announced that significant funding issues could result in the loss of many Delta bus routes, starting in 2026.

The potential cuts would mean a devastating reduction in bus and HandyDART service throughout the City and region, impacting people’s ability to get to work, school, appointments, and social engagements.

This loss of service would profoundly affect our community—the lives of residents, the local economy, and our environmental sustainability. Reduced transit service would also increase congestion on our already busy roads and highways.

Transit impacts everyone.

This is why Delta Council is calling on the Province to step in and ensure the continued viability of transit across Delta and Metro Vancouver.

Join us by sending a letter and signing the petition, urging provincial leaders to take action and support TransLink with the funding it needs to continue connecting our community.

Let’s work together to save our transit. The time to act is now.

    Form Letter:

    Premier Eby,

As a member of the Delta community, I am writing to you in regards to my serious concerns relating to the potential transit service cuts recently outlined by TransLink. These cuts, affecting essential bus routes and HandyDART, threaten the accessibility and reliability of public transportation in Delta.

Thousands of residents, including students, seniors, essential workers, and individuals with limited mobility, rely on these services daily. Reducing transit services will negatively impact our community's social and economic well-being, affect local businesses, worsen traffic congestion, and is misaligned with our environmental goals.

A new funding model for TransLink is urgently needed to prevent these detrimental service cuts. I urge you to prioritize finding a sustainable solution that ensures continued, reliable public transportation for Delta. Your leadership is crucial in protecting the transit services our community depends on.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

    Sincerely,

    [Your Name]
    Resident of Delta
