Delta Secondary School Track

The City of Delta, in partnership with the Delta School District is working to replace the existing running track and grass infield at Delta Secondary School.

Removal and construction of the new track facility is set to start early June 2024, with completion set for early November, 2024. Funding in the amount of $5.0 million has been provided through the Province of BC’s Ministry of Municipal Affairs - BC Growing Communities Fund.

Works involved in the project include:

• Reconstruction of the existing track with synthetic running surface, and long jump runways sized to fully accommodate para-athletes;
• New natural grass playing field with improved drainage and irrigation systems;
• Pedestrian lighting around entire track perimeter; and
• Expanded pedestrian connections from 45th Avenue to the track and adjacent Memorial Park.
