Background
In 2020, Council supported the development of a Vision Zero Strategy for the City of Delta. The following priorities have been identified as guiding principles for the Vision Zero Strategy:
Reduce fatalities and serious collisions
Improve connections to schools and community services
Address needs for older adults and vulnerable road users
Improving crosswalks is an important component to achieving Delta’s Vision Zero Strategy.
About the Project
The following crosswalks will be upgraded as part of this project:
6 Avenue and Milsom Wynd
62 Street and Holly Park Drive
112 Street and 88 Avenue
The upgrades include updated signage and pavement markings, as well as pedestrian-activated flashing beacons.
Impact to Residents
Driveway access may be limited when work is taking place adjacent to a driveway. Given the nature of this work, some inconvenience is unavoidable. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during construction.
Traffic
Single lane alternating traffic will be implemented between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. during construction hours. Two-way traffic will be maintained outside of regular construction hours. Street parking will be restricted within the work zone.
