Background
The existing Cliveden Avenue Sanitary Pump Station was built in 1986 and is at the end of its service life due to corrosion. Portions of the pump station will be retrofitted, replaced and/or enhanced to accommodate future flows on Annacis Island.
The existing pump station has a square concrete wet well with two submersible pumps inside, an electrical kiosk, and an antenna and pole all within a hedged area.
About the Project
The City of Delta has awarded a construction contract to Merletti Construction (1999) Ltd. to upgrade the existing Cliveden Avenue Sanitary Pump Station.
This sanitary pump station is located in the Kings Wood Business Park, to the south of 1119 Cliveden Avenue, within Delta Right-of-ways on this property.
During construction, the sanitary flow will need to bypass the existing pump station to allow the existing structure to be cleaned, retrofitted and enhanced. The existing concrete wet well, will be retrofitted with a new thermoplastic lining. The exiting above ground electrical chamber and SCADA pole will be replaced with upgraded version. The system will be enhanced by installing an underground value chamber to control the pump station.
The area surrounding the station will be modified to suit future upgrade and include security fencing.
Impact to Businesses
Access for businesses will be maintained at all times. With work of this nature, some inconvenience will be unavoidable. We ask for your patience and cooperation during construction.
Notice and Vibration
A sanitary bypass system is required. These operations will have low-noise operating equipment that will run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for the majority of the construction period. The noise impact on the surrounding area is expected to be low to moderate. Noise, dust, and vibrations are expected with the nature of this work.
