A design has been developed for roadway improvements along 84 Avenue between Delsom Crescent and 112 Street. The project is part of Delta’s Neighbourhood Road Improvements Program to address neighbourhood mobility and increase safety and accessibility for cyclist and pedestrian in the community.
The proposed improvements include:
Pedestrian Improvements: 2.0mwide concrete sidewalk on both sides of the road with extended curb at the intersections.
Cycling Improvements: 1.5m wide asphalt cycle lane on both sides of the road with a 0.5m stamped asphalt buffer between the cycle lane and sidewalk.
Boulevard: New grassed boulevard on both sides of the road with street trees, separating the sidewalk and cycle lanes from the roadway.
Parking: 2.2m wide parking lane on both sides of the road.
Lighting Enhancements: New LED streetlights and pathway lighting.
Roadway: Roadway pavement rehabilitation and drainage improvements.
Sanitary Sewer Upgrades: 109B Street to 112 Street.
A Public Information Meeting with City staff will be held to discuss the proposed design with the community and seek feedback from the residents.
The meeting is scheduled for:
Date: July 31, 2025
Time: 5:30pm – 7:30pm (open house drop-in format)
Location: North Delta Recreation Centre (Multi-Purpose Gym) – 11415 84 Avenue, Delta, BC.
The sanitary work for the project is anticipated to take place in 2026, followed by roadway construction in 2027.
We welcome and encourage input from public to this project and look forward to hearing feedback at the meeting. If you are not able to attend in-person, please provide your comments in the comment box below by August 14, 2025.
