About the Project
The existing asbestos-cement sewer main along 53 Street from Ladner Trunk Road to Linden Drive installed in 1969 is at the end of its service life. A new 450mm PVC sewer main will be installed to replace the aging asbestos-cement sewer main and increase capacity for future growth. Existing sewer services will be transferred to the new sewer main. This project will also include repaving of 53 Street from Ladner Trunk Road to Linden Drive. Work is anticipated to commence in April 2026 and be completed in August 2026, weather permitting.
Traffic Impacts
During construction, 53 Street will be closed along the active construction area. The road closure will begin at 53 Street and Linden Drive and move south towards Ladner Trunk Road as construction progresses. Detours will be in place. Driveway access for residents within the work zone will be maintained when safe. If driveway access must be temporarily closed, residents will receive written notice in advance so they can arrange alternate parking.
Please expect traffic delays in the area and consider taking alternate routes. During construction, we will make every effort to minimize the inconvenience to residents. However, with work of this nature, some inconvenience will be unavoidable, and we ask for your patience and cooperation during construction.
