The City of Delta has completed the design for a proposed sidewalk in the neighbourhood bounded by 110 Street, 110A Street, 78 Avenue and 79A Avenue in North Delta. The project is part of Delta’s annual sidewalk improvements program approved by Council. The program provides missing sidewalk and streetlight to enhance pedestrian safety, promote active transportation and improve accessibility in the community.
The proposed improvements include 1.5m wide concrete sidewalk and LED street lighting on one side of the road behind the existing curbs within the municipal boulevard. Please see the presentation drawing for more information.
A Public Information Meeting with City staff was held on November 30, 2023 to seek feedback from residents on the proposed design. The online consultation has concluded on December 11, 2023.
The construction of the project is tentatively scheduled for spring and summer 2024, subject to Council approval.
